Champing at St Mary the Virgin Church, Stansted Mountfitchet

St Mary the Virgin Church, Stansted Mountfitchet

April 28th 2018

It was a spooky night camping inside a church at Stansted Mountfitchet…

Stansted Mountfitchet is a small village fairly near to London Stansted Airport. It has a ruined Norman Castle (which I wrote about last year) and a church, which we went Champing in. Champing is similar to Camping, but you go “camping” in a Church. It is fun, but a very important thing to say is to bring some way of keeping warm, as it is usually very cold. You can bring food if you like, as the choices are usually very slim. If you want to go champing in the UK, you can go to their website and book a couple of nights. Champing is a good way of Camping, and a fun way to learn about Churches.
