Basecamp hotel, Longyearbyen

Basecamp hotel, Svalbard

20th October 2017

This hotel was a nice hotel, we are so glad we chose it.
The beds were very comfy, and the whole hotel was constructed out of planks and wood.
They have big rooms and small rooms, we tried both and they were both nice. They also have amazing bunk beds for any ages to sleep in, instead of sleeping on the ground floor.
This hotel had small little passageways, with loads of rooms on the sides.
It also has a glass roof lounge you can sit and see the northen lights in.
The also have a nice breakfast buffet with waffles, cheese, eggs, bread, smoothies and drinks.

Did you touch the polar bear fur? Is it rough or fluffy?

It was fluffy but did you know polar bears are not actually white? They have transparent fur which reflects from the sun making them look white.

I didn’t know that polar bears were not absolutely white – not sure I would like to get close enough to have a good look though. This is a wonderful blog, Silas. xxx
